Big Brothers Big Sisters Strikes Gold – Annual Fundraiser Returns with Pirate-twist

GREENFIELD, MA - On Thursday July 17th, from 4:30-6:30pm at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Mass (BBBSWM) will host their annual Point 5K fundraiser with an all-new pirate theme. This 546-yard dining experience highlights food and drinks from local businesses across Franklin County, ranging from coffee shops, to breweries, and restaurants. The Point 5K differentiates itself from other 5K runs in the region, by not being a run at all, but instead a simple and fun outdoor dining experience.

“It’s great to have a relay that’s more about the comradery and afterparty than the actual running,” said David Beturne, CEO of BBBSWM, “You don’t have to run at all, but maybe you should race to buy your tickets! We’ve got professional pirates coming this year that you won’t want to miss!”

“We’re very thankful to our sponsors continuing to support events in these uncertain times” added Chris Thomson, Chief Growth Officer of BBBSWM. He added “Community donors, both small and large make it possible for us to run events like this, which in turn enable us to support the 400-plus youth enrolled in our programs across the region.”

Tickets and more information about the event are available here.

Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs change the lives of children. Statistics show that children who are mentored are more successful academically, attain higher-paying careers, and have better peer and family relationships. Mentoring helps youth reach their highest potential.
