Local Farming in the Climate Crisis: Panel and Action Plan

From the February deep freeze that took out Northeast peaches, to May's hard frost damage to apples, and to July's excessive rains and floods, our local farms are reeling from climate-related crop losses.

Come to the panel at 12 pm to learn about what is happening. Stay for the action session at 1:45 pm to be part of planning support for local farms for the future.

The panel brings together two local farmers,

David Fisher of Natural Roots Farm in Conway and Sarah Voiland of Red Fire Farm in Montague and Granby; also with Natalie Blais, State Representative for 1 st Franklin District. They will discuss the challenges of farming in the climate crisis, the Massachusetts' government response, and visions for the future

Donations will go to the United Way Massachusetts Farm Resiliency Fund which is responding to the recent flooding impacting western and central Mass. The Fund is also intended to support Massachusetts' farms after future climate events.
