A Solo Exhibition of paintings by Logan Kirkpatrick. This exhibition presents over a dozen paintings by Logan Kirkpatrick, an artist living with multiple chronic and rare illnesses, whose work reflects on resilience, inner strength, and the quiet moments of hope that can emerge during prolonged medical and emotional uncertainty. Her paintings explore aloneness not as isolation, but as a space for rest, reflection, and healing. Drawing from her upbringing in a seasonal lakeside town?where stillness and absence were part of daily life?Kirkpatrick uses boats, buildings, and reflective water as gentle metaphors for human presence. The works invite patients, caregivers, and medical professionals alike to pause, breathe, and consider how stillness can support perspective, recovery, and emotional well-being. Blush (2023) reflects the gradual return to openness after an extended period of physical and emotional strain. Created during a time of rebuilding health and trust in the future, the painting captures the delicate balance between self-protection and allowing warmth back in. Through soft reflections and restrained light, Blush speaks to the quiet courage it takes to begin again not through dramatic change, but through subtle, hopeful shifts. Rumination II (2023) explores patience and persistence. A boat moves steadily across a mirrored surface of water, suggesting the experience of revisiting the same thoughts or challenges while still making progress beneath the surface. The painting acknowledges that healing is often slow and repetitive, yet meaningful movement can still occur. It invites viewers to consider how perspective can change over time, even when circumstances feel familiar. Serenity (2023) centers on the calm that can come from acceptance and presence. A still body of water and an anchored sailboat evoke steadiness rather than stagnation, offering a visual reminder that peace can exist within pause. The painting reflects the idea that contentment and stability do not always come from what is next, but from recognizing what already is. Logan Kirkpatrick (b. 1989, Holyoke, MA) lives and works in Easthampton, Massachusetts. She lives with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and chronic Lyme disease with co-infections conditions that have required years of complex medical care and adaptation. After this exhibition was solidified, Kirkpatrick discovered that Cooley Dickinson Hospital offers treatment for her condition. She now receives monthly care here, spending two days each month at the hospital. This exhibition stands as a reflection of her lived experience and a testament to endurance, healing, and the shared human effort that exists between patients and those who care for them. This exhibition is part of the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Art and Healing Program, managed by Rhea Banker, which enhances patient wellness and the hospital environment by showcasing local art in galleries, including the North, West, and Atwood Galleries. A portion of the sales from this exhibition will be donated to the Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Viewing hours are 9am - 6pm daily. For more information contact: Logan Kirkpatrick Art Studio at Studio@logankirkpatrickart.com There will not be a reception because group gatherings are not permitted in the Hospital.
