The Dude (Jeff Bridges) more than abides in this quirky Coen Bros. cult masterpiece called “ a glorious, wonderfully entertaining mess” as “the laziest man in Los Angeles County” is mistaken for a crime big-wig & the complications, & laughs, begin... and never stop. Typically weird Coen characters, oft-quoted lines, & bizarre musical interludes with surreal stylized visuals make this the favorite film of many (admittedly odd & possibly unstable) individuals. John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, John Turturro. 1998. Color. R. 117 min. Come dressed as your favorite character from the film, or in your best bowling shirt, and win FABULOUS prizes (free popcorn, free bowling at Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley, etc). Get your Virgin White Russians at the refreshment stand. PLUS – come early for the special pre-film music – both nights at 7pm – The Frost Heaves, and The Dude Abides – unique full-band covers of songs from the Lebowski soundtrack (ya think they might play some Creedence?)
