KRS-One
KRS-One has been a musician and pioneer of the Hip Hop community for more than 20 years, and has over 20 albums to his credit. He has been called the “conscience of Hip Hop” (Rolling Stone), “the greatest live emcee ever” (The Source), the “spokesperson for Hip Hop” (Wall Street Journal), “master teacher” (Zulu Nation), and the “son of Hip Hop” (Kool DJ Herc).
KRS-One has lectured at over 500 universities, published three groundbreaking books, established the Temple of Hip Hop for the spiritual exploration of Hip Hop’s culture, and has done much more highly influential work in the Hip Hop community. At the 2008 BET Awards, KRS-One was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for all his work and effort towards the Stop the Violence Movement as well as his overall pioneering of hip-hop music and culture.
