The First Wednesday Speaker Series at GPL welcomes Dave Downs to speak on clutter control Wednesday, January 3, at 6pm in the LeVanway Room of Greenfield Public Library.
We can’t resist bargains, sales, yard sales! We buy and receive gifts we don’t want. Those are just 2 reasons why we consume twice as much as we did just 40 years ago. Learn how advertisers use many techniques to develop shopping habits, and the use of credit, to motivate people to purchase! Today’s consumers are coaxed into believing they must have every new marketing scheme lest they “lose out” on the latest deal or special. Participants will leave the program recognizing that if they’re thoughtful about what and why they acquire items, they’ll start to reverse the tendency to bury themselves in “treasures!”
Dave Downs, a veteran educator and entertainer with more than fifty years’ performance experience. First Wednesdays are sponsored by the Friends of Greenfield Public Library and are free and open to the public.
