FCCC Breakfast Series with Suzanne Bump
Taxpayers! Come to breakfast and learn how the State Auditor's Office attempts to save your dollars by investigating fraud and waste in State Government. Auditor Suzanne M. Bump will present a program and explain the value of her office. The Office of the State Auditor is committed to ensuring that every dollar given to state government is a dollar well spent and that state agencies and contractors follow the rules when spending public funds. The Office conducts financial, performance, and technical assessments of programs, departments, agencies, authorities, contracts, and vendors. While these audits and reports may uncover problems and issues, they also contain recommendations to improve accountability, efficiency, and transparency, making state government work better for the citizens of the Commonwealth.
Suzanne M. Bump is the 25th Auditor of the Commonwealth, and the first female to serve in this role. Since being elected to office in 2010, Auditor Bump has made it her mission to make government work better. To her, better government means government that is more effective, more efficient, more accountable and more transparent. To model the behavior she expects in government, Auditor Bump has implemented the highest standards of professionalism and performance for her office and strives for innovation through the use of emerging technologies. She is a resident of Great Barrington.
