Pre-registration is required. Eat local the wild way! Join Jean Bergstrom, co-founder of Her Wild Roots, www.herwildroots.com, for an afternoon of wild plant identification and tasty treats. We’ll explore edible plants as well as some medicinal plants in the forest and fields around Northfield Mountain. Stinging nettles, pine trees and dandelions all have something to offer us – free, nutritious food. Knowing where your favorite wild foods grow and how and when to harvest them can help us connect more deeply to the land around us. Following our outdoor adventure we’ll enjoy some wild food treats and beverages. Come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for hiking, your curiosity and a sense of adventure. Although this walk is primarily geared towards an adult audience, interested children 8 and older are welcome to join with an accompanying adult. Fee: $5
