Time: 12:00 PM - 11:55 PM EDT
Event Description:
Hang on to your hats! The 5th Fabulous Hilltown Draw-Around is almost here! Join the Shelburne Falls Art Garden on April 27th for 12 fantastical hours of community doodling, drawing, and creative coloring fun! This inclusive all-ages community event is a pay-what-you-can fundraiser benefiting the local ARTeens after school program. Whether you are 8 or 80, a closet artist or the next Picasso, come make your mark! From Noon-to-Midnight Saturday the 27th, Cowell Gym in Shelburne Falls will be wrapped floor-to-ceiling in paper for your community art making pleasure. Come for a moment or stay until midnight! A giant walk-through coloring space, the Draw-Around becomes a living, transformative space for stress release, celebration, exploration, and the expression of your inner artist. New prompts and activities will inspire our creative play together along with the classics: The Giant Mandala, 3-D coloring, a Community Portrait Wall, Poetry Corner, our Plexiglas Portrait Station, and the renowned People-Powered Request-a-Sketch Machine with a fun new facade! If you happen to seek some new skills, stop in for a mini drawing workshop. We'll have great local musicians playing throughout the day and delicious wholesome snacks and meals available for sale at the Doodle Cafe. See you there! The Draw-Around was brought from the streets of New Orleans to the hilltowns of Western Mass. by ARTeens Co-Director Laura Iveson, and made possible through the generous support of the Local Cultural Councils of Ashfield, Buckland, Charlemont, Colrain, Conway, Deerfield, Hawley, Heath, Leyden, and Shelburne and the many amazing community and ARTeen volunteers!
