55th Annual River Rat Race

Nothing says more fun (and mud) then the annual River Rat Race from Athol to Orange. It’s a complete weekend of amateur and professional canoe races, a 5k road (running) race, parade, carnival, live television, pub parties and a bunch of family events centered around the weekend. The amateur race on Saturday is open to anyone.
Friday evening Apr 13- Spaghetti Supper at the Athol Congregational Church (Troop 8 BSA) .. Position Drawings at Athol Town Hall 7:30pm.

Saturday April 14th- Pancake Breakfast Athol Congregational Church (AMH Auxilliary). Big Cheese 5k Road Race/ Parade begin on School Street at 9:30am .. The start of the River Rat Race at 1pm at the South Main Street bridge in downtown Athol. Awards ceremony for trophy and prizes In Orange 5pm at the Riverfront Park (or town hall in case of inclement weather)
Sunday- Pro-Am races, Youth races and Kayak Races in Orange at 10am.
