PV Squared welcomes four new worker-owners

Greenfield, MA – PV Squared, a worker-owned cooperative and local solar design and installation company located in Greenfield, MA, is very excited to welcome four new worker-owners to the ownership team- Karen R, Jeannine H, Rachel L, and Heather S. There are now 30 worker-owners out of 40 employees at PV Squared, and ownership spans every department- Accounting, Design & Sales, Operations, Installation, and Service. This means that PV Squared clients are working directly with owners in all aspects of the business, including the majority of the installation team members.

“Being an owner of PV Squared is a deliberate act of putting my time, talent and treasure to work for my values. I have deep respect for every one of my fellow cooperators and am proud to not only be helping our customers address climate instability through renewable energy, but to be doing so as a worker owned cooperative that is also a B-corporation,” says Karen Ribeiro, Worker-Owner.

“I am especially honored to be joining the membership of the cooperative with three other talented and hard-working women, striving for equality and more diversity will be essential for our long-term success and it is great to see that in action,” added Rachel Levey, Worker-Owner.

To become a worker-owner, employees must work at PV Squared for at least one year before participating in an additional one year worker-owner in training (WOIT) program. The WOIT program involves in-depth education about all aspects of the cooperative, the development of a personal leadership plan, and additional learning opportunities about socially responsible business practices.

PV Squared is a local leader in the field of solar design, installation, and maintenance. The worker-owned cooperative provides solar and battery storage solutions to homeowners, business owners, commercial property owners, and farmers in western Massachusetts and surrounding regions.
