FirstLight Power Announces Reopening of Campgrounds
Northfield, MA – FirstLight Power today announced that its campgrounds at Barton Cove and Munns Ferry are accepting reservations beginning Friday July 17, for camping starting July 18th.  Half of the campsites will be left empty to allow for social distancing, and the larger 30-person group sites will remain closed for the time being.  Picnic tables and grills associated with each of the campsites will be available and sanitized upon the departure of the group renting the campsite.  Restroom facilities at these parks will be sanitized once a day. Face masks will be required at the site whenever visitors are outside their designated campsite.  Any other picnic tables and grills will not be open to the public, and there will be no drinking water available at the campsite – all campers must bring their own drinking water.  Canoe and kayak rental will remain unavailable for the time being.  For further questions, or to make a reservation for a campsite, please call 413-863-9300.
FirstLight has been opening its recreation facilities as it is able to in compliance with state public health guidelines.  See below for a comprehensive list of what is open and closed. We appreciate your support and understanding as we all continue to work together to stop the spread of COVID-19.  Public safety and that of our employees is our first priority.

Munn’s Ferry Boat Camping Area (Northfield) Open with reservation
Bennett Meadow Wildlife Management Area (Northfield) Closed for events, open for trail use.
Boat Cruise and Riverview Picnic Area (Northfield) Open. Closed for picnicking and boat cruise. No restrooms.
Northfield Mountain Trail System, Visitor’s Center, and Mountaintop Observation Area (Northfield) Open for trail use. Closed for picnicking. No restrooms.
Barton Cove Nature Area (Gill) Campground accepting reservations as of 7/17 for camping starting 7/18. Restrooms and showers will be available, but no potable water.  Canoe and kayak rentals are still closed.
