Diane H. Esser Memorial Portrait Fundraiser and Commemoration Event

The Franklin County Bar Association Community Fund has been working to honor the work and memory of Diane Esser in the legal community. Since her death a little over 2 years ago, the Franklin County Bar Association’s Community Fund worked to create a lasting tribute to her. Funds have been raised from thirty-six local donors for a professional portrait that will hang in the front vestibule of the Greenfield Courthouse.

The portrait artist, Paul Leveille,( http://paulleveillestudio.com/portraits-in-studio/) has created a gorgeous portrait that conveys Diane’s vibrant spirit. We are excited to invite you to special commemoration ceremony that is currently scheduled for September 25, 2020. We had originally planned a great gathering at the Courthouse, with special guest speakers. A large public event is not likely feasible, but a special commemoration ceremony is certain. More details about the ceremony will be determined as public health guidance is updated.

In addition to generous contributions already in hand, we request additional funds to complete the project, that will also include a beautiful plaque designed to communicate her memory and contributions. Please consider donating towards this project that will honor Diane’s legacy. Her portrait will forever stand as an example to remind us of what one lawyer – a GCC graduate, a single mother, and a generous spirit – can do to make our local community a more just and better place to live.

You may make a tax deductible contribution by mailing a check to The Franklin County Bar Association Community Fund, 20 Federal Street, Greenfield, MA 01301 or by visiting the Community Fund Webpage, https://franklincountybar.org/p/81/Community-Fund. Thank you!
