Title:                            Direct Care Staff Coordinator
Position Level:             Management
Department:                Family and Youth Services – Primary, Adult Services - Secondary
Reports to:                   Community Outreach and Family Support Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
 
Oversees the recruitment, screening, hire, placement and supervision of direct care staff for the In Home Supports, Adult Companion, Agency with Choice and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education programs within the Family Support Centers programs. Provides assistance in the recruitment, screening, hire and placement of direct care staff for Adult Services programs.  Direct care staff placements can include permanent placements and/or temporary placements due to vacancies or relief coverage needs. Services are provided within the geographical areas of Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden and Worcester Counties. 
 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred, in Social Work, Human Services or related discipline.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working with families and individuals with special needs, with at least three years supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision and recruitment and retention of qualified personnel.
  • Experience in implementing Individual Service Plans, particularly as relates to staffing requirments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and computer software applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and access to an automobile.
  • Acceptable CORI and fingerprint check required.
 
 
This position starts at 30 hours per week and may increase to 40 hours in the near future.
